Role: Assistant Costume Designer
Why She’s Interested in Hamletmachine:
Working with Ines to explore the design of Hamletmachine is the kind of challenge she has been itching for her entire degree. Intellectually challenging script, ugly and disturbing themes, and costumes that experiment with and push the limits of physical capability and imagination– Ines Ortner’s vision of Hamletmachine is the stuff theatre legends are made of. Laura is in her 4th year of her BFA in Theatre Production and Design. Previous credits include: costume designer for Knives in Hens (Kathleen Duborg, 2012) as part of the Theatre 520s project, Spoils of Troy (Tom Scholte, 2012), and assistant costume designer for The Duchess (Sarah Rogers, 2012).

Why She’s Interested in Hamletmachine:
This is Chanel’s debut with UBC’s Department of Theatre and Film and she is fully psyched to be involved in this show! Since graduating from Queen’s University, Chanel has started her MFA in Design with UBC. So far, she has worked as Costume Crew for The Duchess and as a Wardrobe Intern for Great Pacific Productions. Chanel would like to thank Ines for giving her this wonderful opportunity and for having tons of faith and Laura for having the answers to all the questions! You ladies rock!
